Formula-based Formatting

Hello everyone! It's day 5, and next up in my journey is something called Conditional Formatting, specifically formula-based formatting. Today's submission is a short one.

Formula-based formatting helps us format or highlight cells based on a formula. Below is an example I worked on.

Here, only cells in column D with values above one million are highlighted. This is based on the formula inputted in the conditional formatting section.

Say, for example, we want the ones below one million highlighted in red. First, we highlight column D. We click on the conditional formatting section on the home tab. Then, select "New rule". Next, select the "Use a formula to determine which cells to format" option. We input "=$D2<1000000" in the formula tab. After that, choose the formatting (fill, font, etc.) you want, and that's all.

Note that the cell reference is written as "$D2" so the formula can shift between rows.

Alright, that's it for today. See you next time.
